Can being outside in the cold weather cause you to get sick?

If you go outside in the cold weather can the cold weather cause you to get the flu or a cold or other sickness?

You can catch Pneumonia from being out in the cold too much.

But you can't get the flu or a cold from being outside in the cold.

The cold and flu are caused by viruses that get into your body and the cold weather has nothing to do with getting sick with the flu or a common cold.
