The Tagalog of Okra is the Hibiscus esculentus L which is the long, slender fruits of the okra plant that are eaten in the Philippines.

Eating okra can help boost your immune system, lower your blood pressure, manage diabetes and possibly prevent diabetes, and also okra can help prevent heart disease, heart attacks, strokes and even give you energy.

Okra originated in Ethiopia, and was cultivated by the ancient Egyptians by the 12th century B.C.

Okra is rich in vitamins A and C, as well as antioxidants that help reduce the risk of serious health conditions like cancer, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease.

Okra is also a good source of: Magnesium. Folate

Okra originally originated somewhere around Ethiopia, and was cultivated by the ancient Egyptians by the 12th century B.C.

After Okra was found where it originated the okras cultivation spread throughout North Africa and the Middle East.

Then the seed pods were eaten cooked, and the seeds were toasted and ground, used as a coffee substitute (and still is).

Okra is a very healthy and nutritious food to eat and it's also very easy to grow and Okra grows in most places.

I grow Okra along with my other food every year and I freeze the excess Okra too have through the winter.
