The only way to tell whether or not a fetus is a male or a female is to get a sonogram once the baby or fetus develops enough in the mothers womb.

The Ultrasound or Sonogram can tell the gender of the fetus between 18 to 22 weeks into the pregnancy.

However before then there are some symptoms that may lead to you knowing whether or not the fetus is a male or female.

Some signs and symptoms that you may be having a boy during pregnancy are no morning sickness during early pregnancy, you are craving salty or sour foods, your carrying low, your areolas have darkened considerably, your belly looks like a basketball, you're are carrying the extra weight out front, or your babies heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute.

However these symptoms are no guarantee that you're gonna have a boy instead of a girl.

However most women who do experience the above symptoms during pregnancy do eventually have a boy when the baby gets to full term.

The only real way to know for sure whether a baby is gonna be a boy or girl is to have a sonogram and see the actual fetus or baby inside the womb.

But sometimes certain signs and symptoms can be indicators of having either a boy or girl.

Miscarriage is the spontaneous loss of a pregnancy before the 20th week. About 10 to 20 percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage.

But the actual number is likely higher because many miscarriages occur very early in pregnancy before you might even know about a pregnancy.

It's thought most miscarriages are caused by abnormal chromosomes in the baby.

Chromosomes are genetic "building blocks" that guide the development of a baby.

If a baby has too many or not enough chromosomes, it will not develop properly.

During a miscarriage, an embryo or fetus is spontaneously expelled from the uterus but can't yet live in the outside world.

After 20 weeks, the loss of a fetus is called a stillbirth instead of a miscarriage.

Vaginal Bleeding is the most common sign of a miscarriage along with other signs which include.

Cramping and pain in your lower tummy.
A discharge of fluid from your vagina.
A discharge of tissue from your vagina.
And no longer experiencing the symptoms of pregnancy, such as feeling sick and breast tenderness.

Yes a fetus can die inside the womb and not be a miscarriage.

When a fetus does die in the womb suddenly without you knowing it the term for the baby dying in the womb without knowing it is called intra-uterine fetal death.

So it can also be considered miscarriage when the baby dies in your womb but does not discharge from the women's uterus.

However the baby can die before it develops fully and not discharge but not miscarry.

It's rare that a baby dies in the womb and doesn't develop fully but it can and does happen from time to time.

But when you do miscarry a baby you're usually more fertile and can easily get pregnant again afterwards.
