What happens when you're caught doing credit card fraud can vary from fines, jail time and even prison time.

What actually happens to someone caught doing credit card fraud depends on the amount of credit card fraud they committed.

If someone is caught doing credit card fraud for amounts of $500.00 or less then they may only get a fine and maybe 6 months to a year in jail.

If you're caught doing credit card fraud in amounts over $500.00 then it can become a felony and you may get sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison or even longer.

Credit card fraud can be a serious matter and land you in some serious trouble and it's wrong and not worth it.

If someone uses a stolen credit card and they are caught and convicted they can get 1 year in jail or up to 15 to 20 years in prison.

That depends on how much money they stole when using the stolen credit card and if they have other criminal records.

If someone steals your credit card or you lost your credit card you need to contact the credit card company immediately and let them know about it.

You should also contact the police department and report it as lost or stolen just in case someone does use your credit card.

That would mean they would have that on file in case someone does use it.

If you contact your credit card company immediately then you won't be liable for charges to your credit card that someone else does.
