How deep does electrical wire need to be buried?

I'm running electrical wire out to my garden shed and I'm wondering how deep down do I need to dig and put the electrical wire into the ground?

I'm using PVC conduit to run the electrical wire through it underground. How many feet down in the ground does the electrical conduit and wire need to be buried?

Underground electrical wire and electric conduit needs to be buried a minimum of 18 inches below ground. 2 feet is even better.

18 to 24 inches is how deep the wire needs to be buried according to the NEC national electrical code and is what is needed to pass inspection.
