First off before you get laid off start applying for some other jobs. Even if there are no ads for employment, ask around and see if you can even get some part time help.
Christmas is coming up and stores usually need some extra help during Christmas so ask around and see if they can hire you on temporarily.
You could also do some freelance work online if you're good at doing online work.
Ask neighbors if they have any odd jobs that need done that you can do. It will help you get by until you hopefully find another job.
You should also be eligible for unemployment benefits that should help you get by until you can find employment again.
