If it's just one of those pad transformers then there's not too many health affects that you can get from it.
Now if you're talking about living near high voltage transformers at a sub station then those can cause cancer if you're exposed to long to it.
I wouldn't buy a home near a substation or really high voltage power wires but the transformers that sit near your house or the ones on the poles I wouldn't worry about.
