Is it wrong to declaw a cat?

Is it wrong to get a cat declawed? I have a male cat and I love him and I like him to sit on my lap but when he does and I start to pet him he starts using his paws and digs through my clothes and causes me pain.

I know he's not meaning to hurt me but it does hurt when he does that.

Some might think it's wrong to remove the claws from a cat but in my opinion I don't think it's wrong.

If your cat stays inside there really is no harm in getting your cats claws removed since they won't need to use them for self defense outside around other cats.

I would get the cat declawed if I were you.
