If you think your baby is ready to leave the bottle behind then all you have to do is put your babies milk into a sippy cup instead of a bottle.
Your baby might refuse the cup for awhile but eventually he or she will get thirsty enough and give it a try.
They make sippy cups with a soft spout on it that is made from silicone so it will feel the same as a baby bottle nipple.
Then after he or she gets used to the cup you can introduce him or her to a regular cup without a spill proof lid.
You can also try to get your baby to drink from a cup by holding it up to their mouth and tipping it up for them.
They will after awhile start to want to try to hold onto the cup by there self and will get the hang of it after awhile.
Once you take the bottle away don't give it back keep using the sippy cup instead or a regular cup.
