Why is my water heater not heating up anymore?

My water heater is not that old and is electric. It was installed last year and was working fine until now.

My husband took a shower and now I waited for it to heat back up and was gonna take a shower this morning myself but when turned on the shower all I got was cold water?

I checked the breaker to the water heater and it hasn't tripped?

Why did my electric water heater suddenly stop heating water when it's not even 2 years old yet?

Electric waters heaters have a reset button located on the top thermostat under the access panel which you'll need to unscrew.

But before you take off the access panel you need to shut off the breaker to the water heater so you won't get shocked and the button won't reset without the breaker being off.

Once you shut breaker off then open the access panel you should see a red button.

Push the button back in and then turn on your breaker again and you water heater should start heating up again.

Your heating elements shouldn't have gone bad in only a year so it's most likely just that reset button that needs reset.

My water heater does the same every once in awhile.
