A hawk will attack a human if the hawk sees you as a threat to them or their nest and it has happened.
However unless you go near the hawk or their nest and young the hawk will leave you alone.
Hawks are not really interested in preying on humans but instead the hawk will mostly go after other animals such as chickens, birds etc.
The hawk may also attack and prey on small dogs, cats, mice, rats etc.
The hawk is more interested in preying on food that they can easily attack and eat and a human is low on their list.
But if you do anything to provoke the hawk or try to harm the hawk or their young then they can and will come after a human and attack them and can seriously injure the human.
