No insulin is not all that expensive to produce and it's estimated that it costs between $70.00 to $100.00 per year per person for insulin.

The cost of the insulin that the health insurance pays for or the person pays for out of pocket is much higher than the cost for the insulin to be produced.

Drug companies that make insulin and other medicines make a lot of money by marking the price way up high on the insulin and other medicines because they know that people have no choice but to pay for the medicine.

Or the health insurance will pay for the insulin so they jack up the price way high to make a good profit.

The cost of a months supply of insulin per month out of pocket can cost from $400.00 to $600.00 per month.

So that means that it costs very little to produce the insulin but the people needing it pays a higher price as well as the health insurance pays higher prices as well which makes the insulin manufacturers and other drug manufacturers rich.
