I have a poodle and she always barks at me when I sit down on the couch with a plate of food?

It never fails. Every time I get a plate of food she runs right over to my side and starts barking at me until I give her some of my food and then she continues again and again.

What can I do to stop this behavior?

Your dog is barking at you demanding food from you. Whenever your dog does this you need to take a bottle of water and spray it with it.

Never give your dog food off your plate especially when they're barking at you for it.

Giving the dog food off your plate when he/she barks at you is letting the dog know that whenever they bark and boss you around that they'll get what they want.

It's not cute at all. It's very rude behavior that needs to be stopped.

My neighbor puts her dogs outside whenever they eat or have family gathering.

The dog never has a chance to try and demand food from them.

If you can put the dog outside while you're eating. Even if it's freezing out. Get it a doghouse where it can seek shelter and put it's food outside with it.

Being outside for the time you're eating won't hurt them and it'll give them time to use the restroom out there as well.
