I also run a scrap metal yard part time. I don't buy scrap metal but I haul scrap metal for people when they need scrap metal removed and sometimes they bring it to me for free.
I'm mainly just holding onto the scrap metal until prices improve. I have room to store it for awhile and will work on the scrap metal when I feel like doing so.
I love being self employed as I can stay home when I want too and only work when I decide to work.
