I have a chance to clean up a property that has roughly 5-6 tons of scrap tin and iron on the property.

I'll be getting paid $7.00 an hour for cleaning it up and whatever I get out of the scrap metal.
Do you think It would be worth it to clean up this metal and haul the scrap tin and steel into a scrap metal yard?

It can be worth selling depending on how far your scrap yard is away from you and how much per ton that your scrap yard is paying for steel and tin.

The scrap yard I go to is $75.00 per ton right now and Prepared Iron is $80.00 per ton.

It cost me around $20.00 in gas for a round trip to my scrap yard and back. So let's say I get paid $75.00 for a ton of tin. If I take the $20.00 out of that amount to cover gasoline then I'm left with $55.00 that would work out to a little less than $7.00 per hour if I worked an 8 hour day to get the metal loaded and hauled in.

It's not too bad as it's close to minimum wage that people make at some jobs.

I can easily make it on $55.00 per day or even $20.00 per day and I have. I live well below my means and live alone.

I'm currently not working on scrap metal right now but am stockpiling tin and iron for a hopefully higher price in the future.

Plus seeing as you're making $7.00 an hour just to get rid of the scrap metal then it makes it more worth it.
