When you assist someone in a crime but don't actually commit the crime yourself but only assist that person in the crime then the legal term is Accessory to the crime.

So if you assisted someone in a crime you can be charged as an accessory to the crime.

Being an accessory in a crime can get you some jail time or prison time as well so never assist someone knowingly in a crime.
