If you committed a crime on private property where a security guard is they can arrest you and even use reasonable force to arrest you.
Once you've been arrested by the security guard they can not change their mind and let you go and can hold you until the police arrive to make the other arrest and take you to jail.
So yes security guards do have authority to arrest you and they will arrest you if they need to and can touch you in order to detain and arrest you.
