It is worth it to travel with a baby as long as you're prepared and bring the needed supplies such as formula, diapers, wipes, pacifiers etc.

You should wait at least a few weeks to a month before traveling with a baby although you can travel sooner if you need to.

A baby should be at least a few weeks old before traveling although it's best to wait until the baby is at least 3 months old before traveling long distances.

You can protect your baby's ears from flying by using ear plugs or ear muffs that are made for babies.

Chewing on toys or even having the baby suck on a pacifier during flying can also help protect your baby's ears when flying.

You can breastfeed your baby during takeoff and during landing and it will also help to keep the baby calm and reduce ear pain and discomfort during the changes in air pressure.

When flying with an infant 2 years of age or under there is usually not cost for the plane ticket unless flying internationally.

Babies 2 years and under can fly free on domestic U.S. flights on the paying passenger's lap.

The rules on flying with a baby are that only 1 baby may be seated in a lap of a ticketed adult and the baby also must be included in the reservation.

Babies under 2 year sold also must be ticketed and occupy an infant safety seat or be in a separate aircraft plane seat.

You can feed your baby during takeoff and nursing or bottle feeding your baby during takeoff and even landing can help protect the baby from ear pain caused by change in cabin pressure.

The reason you can't wear your baby during takeoff is because the carrier you wear your baby with is not a restraint device and cannot hold the baby securely during any possible issue with landing and takeoff.

In the event of a crash the baby you are wearing would become an airbag to you and it could kill the baby upon impact.

After you takeoff you can wear your baby and then remove them again when you are landing.

Babies should wear ear defenders or other ear protection on planes to prevent discomfort and ear pain.

Pacifiers do help baby ears on a plane and also helps to keep the baby calm during the flight as well.

Babies don't always need ear protection on planes unless the baby is very sensitive to loud noises then using ear plugs or ear muffs on the baby would be a good idea.

Also pacifiers if your baby uses one can help the baby through the flight as well and keep them calm.

On most airlines you do not need to pay for a baby on a flight as long as the baby is under 2 years of age.

However for international flights you may be charged a reduced rate for international travel for your baby that is under 2 years of age.

All newborn babies, toddlers, infants and children and anyone else leaving or entering another country requires a passport.

Airplane pressure does not affect a baby although some babies may have trouble with the changes of cabin pressure so it's not recommended to fly with a baby that is younger than 7 days of age.

Most airlines do not check infant age although Southwest Airlines does most often ask for proof of the infants age even if they look under 2 years of age.

It's better to sit in the window seat with an infant.

An infant should be placed in a car seat in the window seat and the parent can sit in the aisle seat or next to the infant.

Babies are the safest in the window seats or the middle seats.

You can carry a carseat in flight for the baby to ride in as long as it's approved to fit in the airplane seat which most carseats are.

You can put a carseat on an airplane seat as any approved carseat will fit most airplane seats when they have a width of 17 inches.

Also some airlines will request that the car seat be used in a window seat only so it will not block an escape path during an emergency.

You can drive 8 hours or longer with a baby but you must always stop after 2 hours to allow the baby time out of the car seat as being in the car seat too long can cause issues with the baby's still developing spine.

The baby may also be in need of a diaper change or feeding by then as well.

The age that the 2 hour car seat rule ends is once the baby can sit up unassisted but it's best to wait until the baby is at least 2 years old to go longer than 2 hours at a time.

Even then you may also need to stop by 2 hours anyway to change diapers.

Moms sit in the backseat with their newborn to attend to the baby and to be close to the baby for any emergencies such as if the newborn baby chokes or has other medical issues.

It's good for the mom or at least someone to be close to the baby in the backseat to attend to the newborn.

You should sit in the backseat with your newborn until the newborn is at least 1 month old.

Babies should sit in the middle of the seat or center seat where they can be viewed more easily.

However if you cannot place the baby car seat in the middle then putting the baby behind the drivers seat or passenger seat is fine.

If a baby is left in a car seat for more than 2 hours it can lead to strain of the spine and may even cause the baby to die in rare cases.

When a baby is in a semi upright position for longer than 2 hours it can lead to strain on the baby's developing spine.

A baby should not be in a car seat longer than 2 hours or it can become a health concern and can even cause death if the baby stays in the car seat too long from being in the same position too long.

A newborn can ride alone in the back seat although it's best to sit in the back seat with the newborn or at least have someone else sit in the back seat to attend to the newborn until at least 1 month of age.

You should sit in the backseat with your newborn baby until your newborn is at least 1 month old.

After 1 month old the newborn can sit in the backseat in their car seat on their own.

Babies get more fussy at 6 weeks as they are going through a growth spurt by 6 weeks of age and will want to eat more.

6 weeks is the peak of fussiness because the baby is going through a growth spurt that can cause the baby to want to eat more often both day and night.

6 week fussiness tends to last until the baby turns 12 weeks old.

The crying reaches a peak at 6 weeks of  the newborns life, when crying approaches almost three hours per day.

Crying then decreases steadily and the fussy period is usually gone by 12 weeks.

The "least" fussy babies cry at least 1 1/4 hours per day.

The hardest week of a newborn is the 6th week of a newborns life.

Around 6 weeks of age, your newborn baby is due for another major growth spurt, which can really throw you off.

All of a sudden, your content little newborn baby wants to eat all the time and is extra fussy.

Many young babies have a “fussy period” of a few hours each day, when they especially need lots of calming and soothing.

This is most commonly, though not always, in the evening and first part of the night, and tends to build in intensity over the next few weeks.

The peak age for crying is around 6-8 weeks.

Many babies tend to get "easier" around 3 to 4 months of age.

Around this age, infants will usually begin to sleep longer stretches and feed on a more predictable schedule.

You may also start to adjust to your new set of responsibilities as a parent.

The witching hour is a time when an otherwise content baby is extremely fussy.

It typically occurs daily between 5:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

It can last a few minutes to a couple of hours.
