The reason why a Chinchilla should not get wet is they get cold much more when they're wet and since the Chinchilla has a thick fur coat it takes longer for the Chinchilla to dry out it's fur.

Wet fur on a Chinchilla causes chilling problems for the Chinchilla and can make the Chinchilla get sick from being too cold.

So it's very important to not get your Chinchilla wet and keep their fur dry.

Chinchillas are either of two species of crepuscular rodents of the parvorder Caviomorpha.

They are slightly larger and more robust than ground squirrels, and are native to the Andes mountains in South America.

They live in colonies called "herds" at high elevations of up to 4,270 m.

Domestic chinchillas can be kept as pets.

Because of their high-strung disposition, they are not usually considered to be good pets for small children.

However, chinchillas can be very friendly animals if sufficiently acclimated to human touch as kits (babies), making them excellent pets for patient owners.

The chinchilla is not cheap but it's still not all that expensive to buy a chinchilla.

You can most commonly buy a pet chinchilla for around $150.00 to $400.00 depending on who you buy it from.

Sometimes you can get pet chinchillas cheaper in the pet stores than you can from a direct chinchilla breeder.

The cost of a chinchilla can vary depending on the color, features and activity of the chinchilla.

But the lowest I've seen chinchillas sell for is $150.00
