Horse meat in Italy is called sfilacci especially the thin strips of horse meat.

Horse meat is commonly made into stew and bresaola and horse meat is also served as steaks so horse meat has a variety of names depending on how the horse meat is served and eaten.

Horse fat from the horse meat is also sometimes used in recipes such as pezzetti di cavallo.
