A conjunctival cyst in the eye is most commonly caused by the vitreous traction in the macula which is the tiny oval area that is made up by millions of nerve cells that are located at the center of the retina which is ultimately responsible for our sharp, central vision.

Our eyes contain a jelly-like substance which is known as the vitreous. When the vitreous shrinks it usually causes the cyst in your eye to form.
