How often should I be changing my 1 year old sons diaper during the day?

My mom thinks I should change him after every pee but I think he doesn't need to be changed that often?

I usually change him every 2 hours if he's wet and within 10 to 20 minutes of noticing if he poops unless we're in the car and can't change right away.

How often do you change your babies diaper?

You're doing just fine with the diaper changes. If you changed every time your baby pees his diaper you'd never get anything done and you'd be going through a ton of diapers per day and month. Diapers are expensive as it is no need to spend than you have to on diapers.

Changing every 2 hours is just fine as long as he's not leaking. Diapers these days can hold a lot of urine. And babies stay in the same diaper usually over night for up to 12 hours.
