A medical emergency is when you have a severe illness or injury that can lead to serious harm or even death if not treated promptly.

Examples of medical emergencies include chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke, heart attack, brain bleeding, fit seizures, epileptic seizures, collapsed lung, broken neck, being shot etc.

Examples of non medical emergencies would be small cuts, nose bleeds that are controlled, pulled muscles, minor headaches, sprained arm, sprained ankle or sprained knee.

Medical emergencies need emergency room treatment and non medical emergencies can usually be treated at home, your local doctor or an urgent care center.

Urgent care is much cheaper than the emergency room as urgent care costs around $100.00 to $200.00 or so depending on the urgent care center and an emergency room visit can cost as much as $1,800.00 to $2,000.00

People who use urgent care the most are women and those who cannot afford an ER visit for ailments or injuries that are not really severe enough to warrant an ER visit.

Men are less likely to visit the urgent care center than women.

Urgent care clinics tend to be busiest during the evenings and weekends, when primary care offices are closed.

There are as many as 6,339 urgent care companies in the US and at least 10,800 active urgent care centers or urgent care clinics in the US.

The cost of a MedExpress visit is $199.00 without insurance.

However the treatment you get can increase the cost of the MedExpress visit.

MedExpress hase over 145 MedExpress locations and most major insurances are accepted by MedExpress and they also offer affordable healthcare and self pay pricing.

MedExpress can diagnose kidney stones, broken bones, UTI and a variety of other health conditions as MedExpress has an onsite lab as well as digital X Rays and full time radiologic technologists.

MedExpress can do UTI tests as they have an onsite lab which means that MedExpress can quickly diagnose and treat UTI or urinary tract infections.

MedExpress annual revenue is $121.2 million dollars and MedExpress's SIC code is 80,801

MedExpress is headquartered in Morgantown WV.

MedExpress is an Urgent Care center headquartered in Morgantown WV and is an urgent care medical care provider.

MedExpress urgent care is owned by Optum, Inc which is an American healthcare services provider with business interests encompassing technology and related services, pharmacy care services and various direct healthcare services.

It has been a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group since 2011.

Looking to bring its consumer-focused business into the $15 billion convenient care market, UnitedHealth's Optum unit has purchased MedExpress, a national retail clinic chain with 140 locations across 11 states, for an undisclosed amount, reported Healthcare Finance.

The closest competitor to the medexpress.com is nextcare.com that ranks 195498 worldwide, 60255 in United States.

MedExpress is an urgent care center that provides immediate walk-in treatment for illnesses and injuries, wellness exams, and employer health services.

The difference between urgent care and emergency rooms is the severity of the health problem.

If the condition is life-threatening, go to an emergency room.

If the condition is a minor illness or injury, take advantage of the convenience and affordability your local urgent care center.

There are a few key differences between urgent care and the emergency room (ER).

Urgent care is for injuries or illnesses that are not life-threatening.

The emergency room, on the other hand, is for serious issues that may be considered a medical emergency.

If you have a minor illness or injury that can't wait until tomorrow, Urgent Care is the way to go.

Also, it is a good option if you have illnesses or injuries without other symptoms, or if you do not have other underlying health conditions.

For example, an earache can easily be treated in Urgent Care.

I was having some pretty intense chest pain, and I wasn't sure if it was just indigestion or something more serious. After doing some research, I learned that chest pain can be a sign of a heart attack, so I didn't want to take any chances.
I ended up going to urgent care first because I heard it was cheaper than the ER. The staff there were really nice and they did some tests to rule out any serious issues. Thankfully, it turned out to be just indigestion, but I was glad I went to get it checked out.
Since then, I've always kept a stash of emergency items at home, just in case. I think it's a smart idea, especially if you're like me and tend to put off going to the doctor until absolutely necessary. You never know when you might need something like a military ifak kit, so it's better to be prepared.
