You can wake someone up during sleep paralysis although the person in sleep paralysis will not be able to move until they naturally get out of the sleep paralysis.

A person will always wake up from sleep paralysis on their own.

Medications that cause sleep paralysis are serotonin reuptake inhibitors, MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants and venlafaxine.

Sleep paralysis can happen twice in one night although in most cases sleep paralysis will only happen once in a night.

Sleep paralysis can happen a few times a night although most often sleep paralysis will only happen once a night.

Sometimes sleep paralysis may only happen once or twice in a lifetime and sometimes you may have sleep paralysis more often.

You can get sleep paralysis if you sleep on your side although sleep paralysis when sleeping on your side is less common than it is when sleeping on your back.

Even sleeping on your stomach can help prevent sleep paralysis.

The sleeping position that gives you sleep paralysis is sleeping on your back.

If you experience sleep paralysis then you should avoid sleeping on your back and instead sleep on your side with a pillow behind your back to stop you from rolling over in the night.

During sleep paralysis some people may see simple hallucinations and stationary images or more complex and multisensory intruder, incubus or vestibular motor hallucinations.

In some cases being in sleep paralysis you may see normal things but not be able to move or talk.

The most common trigger for sleep paralysis is sleep deprivation or lack of sleep.

Other causes and triggers of sleep paralysis are some medications, sleeping on your back, changing sleep schedule and even sleep disorders such as narcolepsy can trigger sleep paralysis.

Sleep Paralysis will not hurt you and is not harmful to you.

Sleep Paralysis can be scary and frightening to someone who has never experienced it and has suddenly experienced it.

Although sleep paralysis that occurs too often can be linked to a sleep disorder known as narcolepsy.

If you do experience sleep paralysis more than once or it happens too often then you should let your doctor know because you may have a sleep disorder.

But sleep paralysis itself is not harmful.

The sleep paralysis is just a temporary issue where your body is paralyzed and unable to move and you may not be able to talk for a few minutes or so.

The sleep paralysis should go away on it's own within a few minutes to 5 to 10 minutes at most.

I had sleep paralysis and I was unable to move for 5 minutes and it scared me at first but after I told my doctor about it he said it was nothing to worry about.

Sleep Paralysis seems scary and can be scary but Sleep Paralysis cannot hurt you as it's not harmful.

Sleep Paralysis usually goes away within 5 to 10 minutes or less.

All you can do is wait it out and then the Sleep Paralysis will go away.

Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move.

It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep.

During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes.

Some people may also feel pressure or a sense of choking.

One of the major causes of sleep paralysis is sleep deprivation, or a lack of sleep.

A changing sleep schedule, sleeping on your back, the use of certain medications, stress, and other sleep-related problems, such as narcolepsy, may also play a role.

The reason why sleep paralysis is so scary is not just because you will suddenly become alert but realize that you are, in fact, unable to move a muscle or utter a sound, but also because this experience is often as in the case above accompanied by terrifying hallucinations.
