If you have a good payment history with the student loan company and have good credit now yourself then it's likely that just asking the student loan company to remove the cosigner from the loan will work to get the cosigner removed from the student loan.
If that doesn't work then you'll need to refinance the student loan using only your name without the cosigners name usually with a different student loan company.
