A good way to quickly test out a brake booster is to start the engine of the car and let it idle for about 2 minutes and then shut the engine off and then press the brake pedal down and hold it for 30 seconds with the engine off.
The brake pedal should hold in the down position and if it doesn't lean it's either a vacuum leak or a bad brake booster.
