If you've filed taxes but haven't paid in a few years then you'll be hit with penalties on your taxes and if the taxes continue to go unpaid for several more years then the IRS can take you to court, sue you and win a judgement against you and then the IRS can seize your bank account, house and anything else you own to pay back the back taxes.
