I just purchased a new Oil Filled Electric Space Heater From Walmart today and I just turned it on 20 minutes ago.

Once it started warming up there seems to be some kinda fume like smell coming from it?

Should Turn it off and return it or is gonna be okay?

You're most likely smelling an oil like residue that is used on it during manufacturing.

Within an hour at most the smell should go away.

You could also be smelling the paint on it. Sometimes they do that when the heater is heating up.

It should be okay.

Mechanic is correct. It's normal for these oil filled electric radiator heaters to give off a fume like smell when new.

Nothing to be worried about.
