To stop acid reflux at night take some antacids before bed and avoid any drinks and foods that may cause acid in your stomach such as orange juice, oranges etc.

Also sleeping with your head elevated and try sleeping in an upright position if possible.

Try a mattress lifter, a wedge-shaped pillow, or add a pillow to help keep your stomach contents from moving.

It's possible to choke in your sleep from acid reflux.

Although when you do begin choking from acid reflux at night then the choking and the acid should wake you up so that you can remedy the situation.

In most cases Acid Reflux is just a nuisance and annoyance and nothing to be worried about but in some cases when Acid Reflux is left untreated it can lead to lung damage.

When you have acid reflux it is possible to choke in your sleep from the backup of the acid.

But you're not likely to choke and die in your sleep from the acid reflux.

When you have acid reflux you can begin choking and coughing until the acid gets out of your system.

Acid reflux should be treated as it can lead to esophageal cancer which can be deadly although the acid reflux disease is not deadly itself.

Acid reflux can make it difficult for you to sleep as well but you're just probably gonna wake up and continue to cough, choke etc until the acid clears your throat.

But if you think you may be having more trouble breathing then call 911 although it's usually not very serious and the choking goes away most times.
