Dry cleaning does get rid of some smells on clothes but sometimes even dry cleaning cannot remove all odors from clothes.

Dry cleaning can sometimes get rid of most smells on clothes.

Dry cleaners use a solvent to clean clothes instead of water and detergents.

Sometimes a dry cleaner may need to use additional cleaners to clean the smell off of clothes.

But whenever I've taken dry cleaning clothes to a dry cleaner they were able to get rid of the smells for me.

The good news is that most of the time, dry cleaning is enough to get rid of most bad smells from your dry clean only garments.

Sometimes however, dry cleaning doesn't combat the smells or can result in exchanging one smell for another.

And because dry cleaning is a water-less process that does not remove odors as readily as general laundry.

So garments that smell of body odor, smoke, mold or even perfume need special attention in addition to the normal dry cleaning process for complete odor removal.

During dry cleaning, the pump pulls solvent from the tank and sends it through the filters to remove any impurities.

The filtered solvent then enters the cylinder, where it interacts with the fabrics and removes any soil.

The solvent then travels back into the holding tank so it can begin the process again.
