Yaks are a type of cow however the Yak is more closely in resemblance to a bull than a regular cow is.

Although a Bull is a male Cow.

The domestic yak (Bos grunniens) is a long-haired domesticated cattle found throughout the Himalayan region of the Indian subcontinent, the Tibetan Plateau, Northern Myanmar, Yunnan, Sichuan and as far north as Mongolia and Siberia. It is descended from the wild yak (Bos mutus).

A Yak is a good pet but not for everyone as they need a lot of space to roam about.

Yaks can make good pets for some people but they are not a good pet for everyone.

A yak needs lots of room to roam around and so you would or should need at least a few acres or more of property and be out in a rural area to keep your Yak as a pet.

There are people who do sell a lot of Yaks for pets so some people do keep and buy Yaks and keep them as pets and they do make good pets.

Also you should be prepared to take care of the Yak as a pet for a long time as the average lifespan for a Yak is about 25 years.

So Yaks do have a bit longer lifespan than dogs or cats or other domesticated animals do.

So you need to be prepared to have the Yak for at least 25 years.
