Wienerschnitzel is made of pork chops.

“Wienerschnitzel” is actually a geographically protected term in Germany and Austria and can only be made with veal.

This traditional German Schnitzel is prepared the same way as Austrian Wiener Schnitzel.

The only difference – German Schnitzel is made with pork (my preference) instead of veal.

German schnitzel (or Schweineschnitzel) is traditionally made with pork chops that are also thinly breaded and fried in a tender crisp coating.

The reason Wienerschnitzel dropped the Der is because of a request from a graphics designer who was hired to design their logo.

The chain was called Der Wienerschnitzel until 1978, when it dropped “Der.” According to “Drive-Thru Life,” the change was made at the request of graphic designer Saul Bass, who had been hired to create a new logo for the brand, a big red “W.”

Jagerschnitzel is now made of pork although it used to be made of Venison.

Jägerschnitzel means “hunter's cutlets” in German, and the dish was originally made with venison or wild boar backstrap, pounded thin.

However the Jagerschnitzel is now normally made with pork, and the Texas specialty chicken fried steak is believed to be an outgrowth of this dish brought to the USA by German immigrants.

Chicken Schnitzel is unhealthy when eaten in excess because it's fried foods and fried foods are unhealthy.

Chicken Schnitzel contains solid fat that increases the level of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) in the blood, which can lead to occlusions and raises the risk of cardiac disease and obesity.

A 100-gram portion of home-cooked schnitzel has about 1 gram of saturated fat – which is 5% of the dish's 190-calorie count.

Although if you have no heart issues and are overall healthy then eating chicken schnitzel occasionally is not gonna harm your health.

Tonkatsu is not a schnitzel as they are different from each other.

The difference between schnitzel and tonkatsu is that the tonkatsu is a Japanese dish that consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet served in bite-sized pieces and often accompanied by shredded cabbage and miso soup and the schnitzel is a dish made of fried veal cutlet which can consist of chicken pork or beef.

The difference between fried chicken and schnitzel is that schnitzel can be made from other meats instead of just chicken while fried chicken can be a breaded chicken while the schnitzel can be breaded meats other than chicken.

Schnitzel can be made with meats other than chicken which include very thin boneless cutlet from meat such as veal, pork or beef.

Schnitzel is most commonly eaten with Spatzle and Gravy, Pommes (fries), or Schwäbischer Kartoffelsalat (German vinegar-based potato salad.

Some people also eat leafy green salad along with schnitzel as well.

Shnitzel can be just breaded chicken.

If the chicken is used to make the schnitzel then it's breaded chicken.

Although schnitzel can also be other meats as well such as very thin boneless cutlet from meat such as veal, pork or beef.

Chicken schnitzel is a breaded chicken filet, so if you get down to the nitty-gritty, they're the same thing.

How you serve it, meaning garnishes and accompaniments, is what turns a breaded filet into a schnitzel.

Schnitzel is a dish that uses a very thin boneless cutlet from meat such as veal, pork, beef or chicken.

The meat can be breaded and then deep fried or it can also be pan fried and then be used as breading or just be consumed without the bread.

Schnitzel is always made from a boneless cut of meat.

For weiner schnitzel, use boneless veal chops.

For pork schnitzel, use boneless pork chops.

And for a chicken schnitzel (less common), use boneless skinless chicken breasts.

"Schnitzel", for the uninitiated, is German for "cutlet" which is usually made with veal and thinly pounded, breaded and fried.

As for this schnitzel recipe, it is made with thinly pounded pork cutlets.
