Coconut Oil can be used in an air fryer but you have to be careful as the coconut oil could burn easily.

Other good oils for coconut oil include.

Peanut Oil - 450 degrees Fahrenheit smoke point.
Vegetable Oil - 400 degrees Fahrenheit smoke point.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil - 375 degrees Fahrenheit smoke point.
Butter - 200-250 degrees Fahrenheit smoke point.

You can put some oil in the air fryer if you want too.

Although air fryers can cook just fine without any oil as they cook mainly with heat.

Air fryers don't require oil but adding a small amount of oil can bring taste to your mouth.

Using a small amount of oil doesn't increase the health risk as much as deep fryers do.

Air fryers can be cancerous when food is cooked in them.

However air fryers are really very safe to cook with.

Although not only does air frying still run the risk of creating acrylamides, but polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic amines can result from all high-heat cooking with meat.

These compounds have associations with cancer risk, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Air fryers can smell when they cook due to food particles getting stuck on the heating element used in the air fryer to cook foods.

Air fryers usually come with a heating element that is located at the top of the air fryer and over time food particles start to collect in this section and this also releases a burnt smell.

If you do not properly clean your air fryer regularly then you will be able to get a bad odor which is also not good for your health.

Air Fryers don't actually fry food like a deep fryer does.

The air fryer cooks food through convection and through heat circulating from a fan and heating element.

An air fryer basically works similar to an electric fan forced space heater to heat and cook the food.

Air Fryers are a compact kitchen appliance that circulates hot air around the food to cook it and give it a crispy taste and browned color.

You place the food in a basketlike container, the air fryer cooks it and the excess fat drops to a pan.

By most measures, air frying is healthier than frying in oil. It cuts calories by 70% to 80% and has a lot less fat.

This cooking method might also cut down on some of the other harmful effects of oil frying.

The amount of electricity that an air fryer consumes is relatively low.

This is in comparison to the traditional oven, deep fryer, and microwave.

Most air fryers that are currently available in the market (Philips, Nuwave, GoWise) use energy in the average measure of 1500 watts.

Air-frying is a healthier alternative to deep-fried foods, but oven-baking often preserves good nutrients while filtering out the bad ones, making oven-baked foods even healthier than most air-fried foods.

While air fryers reduce the likelihood of acrylamide formation, other potentially harmful compounds could still form.

Not only does air frying still run the risk of creating acrylamides, but polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic amines can result from all high-heat cooking with meat.

Since the air fryer uses no oil it means that the air fried foods are healthier than deep fried foods that are deep fried and cooked in oils.
