Coyotes do sometimes bark like a dog but they don't do it as often as regular dogs do.

Coyotes howl and yip primarily to communicate with each other and establish territory.

They may bark when they are defending a den or a kill.

Coyotes can attack humans but they rarely do.

The coyote is a species of canine native to North America.

It is smaller than its close relative, the wolf, and slightly smaller than the closely related eastern wolf and red wolf.

It fills much of the same ecological niche as the golden jackal does in Eurasia.

Yes wolves and coyotes are related closely to each other.

The same goes for domestic dogs as well as domestic dogs and wolves and coyotes are also related to each other very closely.

Dogs, coyotes and even wolves can all mate with each other and can interbreed and produce viable, fertile offspring together.

Also through DNA analysis, scientists have established that the wolf is the ancestor of the dog.

So when you see a dog or have a dog it's an ancestor and relation to a wolf and a coyote.

Most times Coyotes when they see humans nearby the Coyote or pack of Coyotes will usually take off and leave the area where humans are.

Most Coyotes are very weary of humans and will not usually stay around or try to attack humans unless the human gets into a fight with the Coyote when it's cornered or trying fighting their animal.

As long as you don't go near the pack of Coyotes or try to corner the Coyotes you'll likely never be attacked by the Coyotes.
