The reason it's called Salisbury Steak is because Salisbury Steak is named after Dr. James Henry Salisbury who studied nutrition and healthy eating during and after the American Civil War.

Foods that go well to serve with Salisbury Steak are baked potatoes, fries, mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, macaroni and cheese, broccoli, green beans, peas, cauliflower.

Salisbury Steak and cube steak are essentially the same thing except in the way they are processed.

Cube steak or cubed steak is a cut of beef, usually top round or top sirloin, tenderized and flattened by pounding with a meat tenderizer.

The name refers to the shape of the indentations left by that process.

This is the most common cut of meat used for the American dish chicken fried steak.

Salisbury steak is a dish originating in the United States and made from a blend of ground beef and other ingredients and usually served with gravy or brown sauce.

It is a version of Hamburg steak.

Both Salisbury steak and Cube Steak are made from the same meat and ground to make patties so yes the Salisbury steak is the same thing as Cube Steak because it's the same exact meat.

The only difference between the Salisbury steak and Cube Steak is in the way it's processed and made into the patty.

But other than that and the shape the cube steak and Salisbury steak are the same.

I notice no difference in taste between the Salisbury steak and Cube Steak.

However some people say it tastes different between the two but everyone has different taste buds and different tastes.

But basically Salisbury steak and cube steak are the same.
