The reason it's called Swiss Steak is because of the process of Swissing that the Swiss Steak goes through when cooking and preparing it.

The Swiss Steak goes through a process called Swissing which make the Swiss Steak Tender.

Swiss Steak did not come from Switzerland at all and the Swiss Name in the Swiss Steak has nothing to do with Switzerland.

Swiss Steak is the same as Round Steak.

The Swiss Steak is made using a slow cooking method that slow cooks the tough cut of beef which is Round Steak.
