Prostate surgery is pretty safe and if you need your prostate removed due to prostate cancer the complications after prostate surgery are nothing compared to the cancer that can kill you.

Complications after prostate surgery include, urinary incontinence, injury to the rectum, bleeding erectile dysfunction, narrowing of the bladder neck and urethra and formation of cysts containing lymph (lymphocele).

The complications are rare but they do happen.

If you do experience urinary incontinence the urinary incontinence may only last for a few months to a year but in some cases the urinary incontinence may be for the rest of your life.

You may want too or need to wear adult diapers, incontinence pads, pull ups etc to keep your pants and clothes dry while you have the urinary incontinence.

My dad went through prostate surgery and came out just fine over 10 years ago without any complications.

All surgeries can have complications but having prostate surgery is pretty safe.
