If you take expired diarrhea medicine the diarrhea medicine will still work but it may not be as effective with the normal dosages.

There's nothing harmful about taking expired diarrhea medicine but taking fresh non expired diarrhea medicine is better to get the best results.

Expired Pepto will still work although you may need to take a bit more of the Pepto to get the desired results.

There's nothing wrong with taking expired Pepto although it's sometimes not as effective as fresh Pepto.

Still there's no need to throw out expired Pepto as it can safely be used.

You can take Pepto-Bismol for up to 2 days.

Do not take Pepto-Bismol for more than 2 days as this will increase your risk of getting side effects.

If your symptoms are no better or are getting worse after 2 days, contact your doctor.

However if your symptoms are serious, it's important to speak to a doctor right away.

Pepto-Bismol is an upset stomach reliever and antidiarrheal product.

It can be taken any time you are experiencing diarrhea, travelers' diarrhea or an upset stomach due to overindulgence in food and drink, including: heartburn, indigestion, nausea, gas, belching and fullness.

The active ingredients of Pepto Bismol are thought to have the following actions within the body: Increasing the amount of fluid that is absorbed in the intestines, therefore firming up stool.

Pepto-bismol is considered an effective option that works to treat mild symptoms of diarrhea and upset stomach.

The medications that should not be taken with Pepto-bismol include.

Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, such as benazepril, captopril, enalapril, fosinopril, lisinopril, and trandolapril.

Anti-seizure drugs, such as valproic acid and divalproex.

Blood thinners (anticoagulants), such as warfarin.

The ingredient Bismuth Subsalicylate gives it its pink color.

Some side effects of Pepto Bismol are changes in behavior with nausea and vomiting; hearing loss or ringing in your ears; diarrhea lasting longer than 2 days; or. worsened stomach symptoms.

Pepto Bismol is used to treat diarrhea and symptoms associated with indigestion.

Its active ingredient, bismuth subsalicylate, can cause your stool to turn black or gray.

This side effect is harmless and temporary.

Your stool color should return to normal within a couple days after you stop taking Pepto Bismol.
