Target Lets you keep some returns on lower cost items because the cost of shipping the item back to them usually costs them more money than just letting you keep the item.

Target has said that there are a small number of cases where returning a Target.com order costs the company more than it saves them.

In such cases, you'll be able to keep the returned items and receive a refund.

You can make up to three returns without a receipt, within a 45 day period. Target's policy gives you 90-days for a return with a receipt.

But if you don't have a receipt or the item is open or damaged, Target can deny you a refund or an exchange.

Target stores have a $200.00 limit on returns made without a receipt.

Customers who return items without a receipt receive store credit in lieu of money.

Items and merchandise that cannot be returned to Target Stores or Target include.

Open or defective collectibles (e.g., sports cards, special edition Barbie dolls, porcelain dolls, action figures and die-cast cars)
Personalized items and digital downloads.
Opened/unsealed breast pumps.

If a returned item at Target can't be resold, they either donate, salvage, recycle or properly dispose of it if it's broken or damaged.

Target will never re-sell anything that is temperature controlled and has left the store (like milk).
