Sorrento cheese is now called Galbani.
Sorrento cheese was renamed to Galbani as part of a 2013 rebranding of it's owner "Groupe Lactalis, to consolidate their brands and leverage a wider recognition of the Galbani name in the United States and other markets.
Although the brand name for Sorrento cheese changed to Galbani, the Galbani cheese is still made with the same ingredients and quality.
Sorrento cheese is now branded as Galbani Professionale.
In 1992, Lactalis American Group established its U.S. headquarters in Western New York when we acquired Sorrento Cheese in Buffalo, NY, the largest manufacturer of ricotta in the country.
In 1999, they also acquired a plant in Nampa, ID to consolidate our U.S. production of Italian cheeses.
