How long does a sore throat last without antibiotics?

Sore throats will usually go away on their own within 7 days. The sore throat should start feeling better though by day 4.

If the sore throat you have lasts longer than 7 days then you should see your doctor because you might have strep throat and you might need to get the doctor to prescribe antibiotics to clear the sore throat or the strep throat up.
