If you start potty training a toddler too early can the early potty training cause any problems with your toddler?

Potty training too early can cause your child to be a chronic holder.

A child who becomes a chronic holder will know not to urinate in their pants but they won't always get to the toilet when needed.

Most children 3 and under will just continue to hold in their urine until they absolutely realize they need to get to the toilet to relieve their urine.

If a child won't get up and go to the toilet to urinate on their own without being told or reminded too then it's too early to potty train.

A child holding their urine in for too long can lead to bladder damage and bladder problems later in life.

It's actually recommended to wait until the child is at least 3 years old before you start potty training them and if you start potty training younger then it's recommended that 2 years old is the youngest you should begin potty training your child to avoid any health issues.
