Can a bad distributor cap cause a car to stall?

My car keeps stalling and I've replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs as well as spark plug wires.

Now I'm wondering maybe my car has a bad distributor cap since it keeps stalling. Can a distributor cap that is bad be causing my car to stall out?

What are the symptoms of a bad distributor cap and rotor?

A bad distributor cap can cause your car or other vehicle to lose power and yes stalling can be caused by the bad distributor cap.

If you replace your distributor cap I also recommend replacing the ignition module as well which should be located on the distributor itself.

If the ignition module goes bad your engine will die out and you won't be able to start it again. That could be your problem as well the ignition module could be on it's way out causing your car to stall. But mostly they just go dead but it could happen.

A bad distributor cap will cause your vehicle to run rough at idle and hesitate when you accelerate and cause you to lose power especially when climbing the hills.

If you replace the distributor cap replace the distributor rotor as well as a pair. You should a huge improvement in performance in your vehicle and get better gas mileage.
