How Long Do Central Air Conditioners Last?

My central air conditioner is going on 15 years old. It's still winter here so don't need central air on yet. But am trying to figure out how many years I might have left on the Central Air conditioner?

Should I be saving up soon to replace it?

A central Air Conditioner should last at least 20 years if properly taken care of.

So you should get at least another 5 years of use out of that one depending on how much you use your Central AIR.

I'd begin saving up to buy a new one.

Central air conditioners typically last from 12 to 15 years. The lifespan of a central cooling unit may be reduced if its capacity is not properly matched to the cooling load of the home. Oversized air conditioners “short-cycle,” turning on and off rapidly, inflicting excessive wear and tear on the compressor.

My Grandma has a central air conditioner that is 35 years old and still working great but it is a quality built central air conditioner.

Today's central air conditioner are lucky to last between 10 to 20 years before you need to replace them and the more you use the central air conditioner the less time it lasts.

The central air conditioner at my house went out at 10 years old but was a cheaper model and I hope my new one lasts longer than 10 years because central air conditioners are expensive to buy and expensive to have installed.

Hello, guys! I made a little research and I can say that in general "lifespan" of a central air conditioner is around 15 to 20 years. So if you bought new conditioner recently, you shouldn't worry. By the way I can also recommend to pay attention on ceiling fans, here you can discover more detailed information.

You actually need to renovate it or to install a new one, because the air can not be fresh at all.
