Improving your credit score on your own will usually take a year or 2 of using credit responsibly.
As you have open loan or credit accounts in good standing your credit score will improve gradually as long as you don't get behind on credit card or other loan payments.
It's best to keep loan and credit card accounts open for as long as possible and keep those accounts in good standing with on time payments.
