Before I installed my wood stove in my new to me fixer upper house I spent $175.00 per month for electric heat which barely kept the house warm.
That $175.00 per month x 6 months of heating came out to $1,050.00
Now my electric bills runs around $33.00 per month heating with wood. So I save over $800.00 over the winter months by heating with wood and I get my wood for free and just have to spend gas in the chainsaw to cut it up and gas in my truck to haul it.
Still a significant savings by heating with wood vs electric or natural gas heat.
