You can make money from any website topic but some website niches do pay more on ads.
If you really want to make money online you need to write in high paying Adsense niches, such as Web Hosting, Lawyers, Auto Insurance, Health Insurance etc.
Find something you're passionate about otherwise you might get burnt out on writing for the blog and not make money from your blog.
Making money through your blog isn't gonna happen overnight and will happen overtime since it can take a few years to get the traffic coming to your blog.
