What temperature does it have to be to freeze to death?

A person freezes to death when they develop hypothermia. It could be possible for a person to freeze to death when the temperature is above freezing and is raining.

If your bodies normal body temperature of 98.6 F starts dropping then you start to develop mild hypothermia.

You must keep your bodies temperature at 98.6 F because if your body goes below 98.6 F bad things can happen.

It's okay to be out in the cold and even freezing cold but you should come inside and warm up as often as possible.

I would say though you'd have to be outside or in a freezing place that is 30 F or below for probably 5 or 8 hours without being under blankets or anything else warm before you could die of hypothermia and freeze to death.

A person can perish from hypothermia at surprisingly moderate temperatures, although the colder it gets outside, the faster death can occur. Exposed skin can become frostbitten in less than ten minutes at subzero temps.

If the body's core temp reaches 94 degrees Fahrenheit, death may occur.
