Bolts that hold the torque converter to flywheel will not come lose?

I'm trying to change the transmission on my truck and I've gotten the transmission separated from the engine since I have the engine and transmission out of the truck. Now that I have the transmission separated from the engine and torque converter the bolts holding the torque converter to the flywheel will not come lose even when I use an impact wrench?

How can I get the bolts unstuck from the torque converter so I can remove the torque converter from the flywheel?

Which direction are the bolts threaded on the flywheel and torque converter?

I had that trouble before and what I did to resolve it is put a pipe wrench on the torque converter shaft to hold the torque converter and then use a pipe on the end of my big ratchet to use as leverage and as I pushed down on the ratchet with the pipe I pulled upwards on the pipe wrench and it finally broke lose.

You might also take a torch and heat up the bolt to help break it free if it still doesn't come out.
