Is it safe to burn scrap pallet wood in a wood stove?

Someone on craigslist in my area has several wood pallets that are bad to give away. I was thinking of going and getting them if they're still available and use them in my new wood burning stove when I get it installed.

As long as the wood from the pallets is not treated by chemicals then you're okay to burn the pallet scrap wood in your wood stove.

There should be a stamping on the pallets that show whether they're treated with a certain chemical.
